Scholar transport vehicle testing for Transport Month

On Wednesday, 4 October 2023, Western Cape Minister of Mobility, Ricardo Mackenzie, will visit the free vehicle testing currently offered to Scholar Transport operators at Gene Louw Traffic College in Brackenfell. Minister Mackenzie will be joined by Western Cape Minister of Agriculture, Dr Ivan Meyer.

Minister Mackenzie has encouraged scholar transport operators to take advantage of this opportunity, which forms part of the Mobility Department’s continued outreach to the industry to ensure children get to and from school safely. The school holiday is the ideal time to check the roadworthiness of these vehicles. In addition to the free vehicle testing, the Provincial Regulatory Entity will also be on site to assist the industry with applications and other regulatory processes.

This free vehicle testing is one of the activities in the Western Cape’s ‘October Transport Month’ programme, which focuses on promoting safety across all modes of transport.
