You can, however, apply either at an one of our Education District offices or at a school. The schools are able to capture your application.

Grade R Applications: Parents | Guardians MUST upload the following certified supporting documents:

 

  • Immunisation card (Road to Health Chart – Primary Schools only)
  • ID | Birth certificate | passport of the learner; OR
    • A study permit (foreign learners); OR
    • Proof of application (study permit) or a police affidavit
  • Proof of residence

 

School admissions:

  • Apply to at least 3 schools (Including the ones closest to your home)
  • Indicate your order of preference on the system

Learner Transfers | Grades 2-7 and Grades 9-12

Transfer requests for Grades 2-7 and Grades 9-12 must be done via the school you wish to transfer to, and not online.

 

  • Use this form to submit school transfer requests for learners already attending school in Grades 2-7 and Grades 9-12.

  • Transfer applications are to be done at the relevant school in which the parent/caregiver wishes to apply to or their nearest WCED office.
  • Parents or caregivers will be required to fill out the WCED application form, which can also be downloaded from the WCED website, but can only be submitted to schools or the district office from 1 August 2024 onwards.
  • They will also be required to submit in the relevant supporting documentation:
    • The last school report card;
    • ID, birth certificate, passport, study permit or proof of application or police affidavit; and
    • Proof of address or police affidavit.
  • Parents can drop off the application form and supporting documents directly at the school. They can also contact the school for details on electronic (e-mail) submissions on the official WCED form only.
