The Doringbaai WCG eCentre assists local people to communicate more effectively with government and communities around the world by providing access to e-mail, internet and various government services.
The Doringbaai WCG eCentre is located in the Miriam Owies Complex next to the library and has served the local community for the past seven years. The centre is located near to the sea and has wonderful views of local fishermen and the waves in this picturesque location.
Doringbaai is a fishing community located in the Matzikama municipality on the West Coast. It is 36 km from Lamberts Bay and 7 km from Strandfontein (just north of Doringbaai). Doringbaai can be accessed from the N7 between Cape Town and Namibia at Clanwilliam (via Lamberts Bay) or from Klawer or Van Rhynsdorp (via Vredendal and Lutzville) as well as from the R27 via Velddrift, Elands Bay and Lamberts Bay.
A new abalone factory provides employment to local residents and Fryers Cove Cellars is popular among tourists, as it offers tasty wines made from grapes grown along the coast of Doringbaai.
