Minister Marais wishes SA Netball team well ahead of Quad series

On Wednesday, 18 January 2023, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais, met the Proteas Netball team as they get ready to take part in the Netball Quad Series over the coming weekend. The South African team are staying in Cape Town as they prepare to take on Australia, New Zealand and England in this exciting series which starts at the CTICC on Saturday, 21 January and runs until Wednesday, 25 January. This series will be an important step in the build-up to the Netball World Cup, which will be hosted in Cape Town in July this year.  Minister Marais wished the team well for the upcoming series, as well as for the World Cup: “Thank you for all that you are doing to promote women’s sport in our country. We are very proud to be able to support you in the Mother City and we hope to see you lift both trophies at the end of the quad and World Cup events.” she said. Minister Marais calls on all people in the Western Cape to support the upcoming quad series and the Netball World Cup through attending the events. Tickets for the quad series are available via Ticketpro. Hosting international sporting events not only supports the growth of sport in our country but also supports our tourism industry which is seeing a significant resurgence after the devastations of the COVID-19 pandemic.
